nels
so i have been meaning to ween nels and try to get him on whole milk. so i have been cutting out feedings and such but just wasn't ready to stop altogether. that would mean my little baby isn't so little anymore, right? so nels has got a lot of teeth now...he got 6 just in this past month, poor thing. and yes...he bit me...and it scared me and him to death. i think i hurt his feelings when i told him NOT to BITE me! but he still continued to nurse and the biting has gotten better. so yesterday morning i go to feed him and i feel those little teeth tightening so i pulled him away and very gently(truly it was said gently) "don't you bite me nels" and you would have thought i had just broke his heart! he had the biggest pouty face like he was trying not to cry. and he wouldn't nurse after that. so i thought i would just try that night...no nursing...so i tried this morning...no nursing. it seems that he himself has decided to stop nursing altogether! i wish he would have consulted me on this! i wasn't ready! but the good thing is that he loves milk...like right off the bat. he guzzles it down. and he hadn't even had it before! go figure. now i am enjoying the pleasure of having milk storage that isn't exactly comfortable, if you know what i mean!

I hate overloaded milk supply. Isn't it so nice to not be breastfeeding? I'm really enjoying myself... except that Lucy HATES milk.
is it possible that he's almost a year? And just envisioning his little pouty face almost made me cry. And Joni, you are a heroine in our home right now! My children sing your praises....it may have something to do with a dozen ballerinas....you're the best!
jones, that is exactly how parley quit nursing, i too was a little more sad than he was. He bit me one night, i screamed, and then he wanted nothing more to do with it. he was 11 months old and i just wasn't quite ready yet. actually i was pregnant with brig so i needed to stop soon. but that wasn't how i had planned on ending it, good thing i had another one on the way right?
Helpful hint on the overload supply, try an antihistamine. A friend said she took it for her really bad cold and got some undesired side effects, such as immediately having to stop nursing her 6 month old. So now if anyone has that problem she recommends Sudafed:)
sister...love that feeling...i'm looking forward to being "full"...wow...am i ready for that!! give him a squeeze for me!! but hey, cold turkey can't be bad...right?
Can I hear mixed emotions there? That is pretty normal. It really does mean he is looking forward. He thinks since he is walking and strutting around, he can also drink like the big kids. He is smarter than you think! Dang! He is almost a year!!!!@@2***@xoxoxo mama
